Being on the water is such a fantastic feeling, no wonder so many people enjoy boating and cruises! This particular day I was lucky enough to be on a vessel and admiring a stunning sunset, as the wind whipped at my hair. Ah!... so exhilarating and inspiring!
Revisiting these feelings as I captured this scene on canvas, I remembered the beautiful colours ever-changing in front of my eyes. You don’t want it to change, you want to hold onto that magical scene forever. The apricots and soft yellows at the edges of the mauve cloud masses, creating a stunning glow.
The graduating blue of the sky behaving like a three dimensional backdrop. Just amazing! Nature is so good for the soul, and perhaps that’s why I love to paint such incredible scenes – to help me, and others displaying my work, to revisit the emotions felt when in such an environment.
